Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Kohat was founded in 2002 and it conducts the matric and intermediate annual and supply exams in the district of Kohat and other districts close to the Kohat district. All the public and private schools and colleges in these districts are affiliated with BISE Kohat and every year thousands of regular and private students participate in the matric and intermediate level exams under Kohat Board. Written and practical papers of 9th and 10th class are held in March and April respectively while written and practical papers of 11th and 12th class are conducted by the board in May and June respectively.

In all the schools and colleges affiliated with BISE Kohat, the admission process starts two or three months before the commencement of new academic year. New academic year of 9th and 10th class in the schools starts in April while 11th and 12th class new academic year starts in September every year. Every time, Kohat Board completes the examination process in time.

Kohat Board changes the paper pattern and examination syllabus of the SSC and HSSC almost every year due to which model papers becomes very important for the students as they are made according to the new paper pattern and syllabus of the board. These model papers are available at the official site of the board while past papers are available from the market which helps the students to know about important questions of the exams.

Kohat Board issues the date sheet and roll number slips of the exams according to a regular schedule. SSC part 1 & 2 annual exams start in March while HSSC part 1 & 2 exams begin in May. The date sheets and roll number slips of these exams are issued two months and one month before the start of the exams respectively. Date sheets can be viewed and downloaded from the official site of BISE Kohat while roll number slips are mailed to the students at their mentioned addresses.

BISE Kohat organizes the 9th and 10th class annual exams during the months of March and April while 11th and 12th class annual exams are held in May and June. After two or three months of the exams, Kohat Board declares the results of the exams which are soon available to the official site of the board. After few days of the results, the students receive their result cards at their home addresses.

Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Kohat is responsible for improvement of education in government schools in Kohat Board jurisdiction and it starts registration of the students by receiving their BISE Kohat primary & middle classes admission forms 2024. The students get their Kohat Board 5th & 8th classes annual exams 2024 roll no slips before the exams.
