Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Kohat organizes the annual exams of SSC part 1 and SSC part 2 along with other academic boards of KPK Province. Kohat Board has the authority to conduct matric level exams in Kohat District and its nearby areas while all the public and private schools in these areas are affiliated with Kohat Board. Every year, thousands of students, including regular and private, participate in the matriculate level annual exams under BISE Kohat while the board conducts these 9th class annual exams and 10th class annual exams during the months of March and April. Written papers and practical papers are held in the months of March and April respectively.

Kohat Board issues the date sheets of SSC part 1 and SSC part 2 annual exams according to a schedule. The board announces the date sheet 2023 two or three months before the start of the exams so that students can get awareness about their examination schedule and start preparation of the matric class annual exams according to the examination schedule and time table. Soon after the announcement of the date sheet, the students start preparation of exams while the board announces separate date sheets for written and practical papers.
